An example of such negligence is that of a singer who had a couple of social networking pages on two of the more popular social networking sites around. Since she only created her social networking page out of a whim, she rarely checked on it. When she did happen to check on her personal page to add a couple of new pictures, she was surprised to see a couple of letters in her inbox that came from a rather hard to reach booking agent. The letters were from a couple of weeks before and as she read it, she was surprised to know that the agent was asking for her to come in for an audition and a possible contract. When she did reply, however, the agent told her that the contract was given to someone else and she was asked why it took her so long to reply. She was also told by the same agent that he thought she was not interested in such an offer due to the late reply which was why she got passed over.

This kind of a situation is not rare. In fact, a lot of people do not realize the importance of updating or even checking on their social networking pages everyday. Another possibility is that of people you know not knowing what you are up to. If you update your social networking page frequently, you may not need to write all those emails to the people you know to let them in on what is new with you or what is happening in your life. With the constant update of your social networking page, they can easily grasp what is happening to you lately with the pictures, quotes, friends you make and all other updates you post on your personal page.

The importance of updating your social networking page daily need not mean that you have to post something new or to alter something on it every day. It may mean the simple checking of your page to see if there are new friend invites, offers, opportunities or even simple messages that say hi to you. A daily check is all you need to help keep your social networking pages up to date and help keep you from missing out on anymore opportunities. This way, you not only help people know what you are up to but you also get to know whether or not there are bigger and better things for you in the future via your social networking page.
