Josh Johnson is one of the best young pitchers in the National League. He has shown this time and time again during the 2006 season for the Florida Marlins. When Johnson is on the mound the Marlins have a great chance to end up on top. When it comes down to it, Johnson is only 22 years old, and has plenty of great years ahead of him on the mound. For this reason it appears that the Marlins will want to get him locked up in a long term deal as soon as possible. Johnson is the type of ace that can lead a team to the playoffs year in and year out with a little bit of help.

Up to this point in the 2006 season, Johnson has compiled a record of 12-6. This is not the best record in the league, but it is a very good winning percentage for a major league baseball pitcher. To go along with this he is leading the National League in ERA with at 2.87. He has also managed to strike out 123 batters, while only walking 60. All in all, Johnson has some of the best pitching stats in the league this season.

As the season finishes up Johnsons stats are only going to get better. With a couple more starts under his belt Johnson will end the season as one of the best pitchers in the league. The future looks bright for Johnson, as well as the Florida Marlins organization.
